How counts work
Counts exist so players can find where games actually get played. That’s the whole reason. Gamestead shows play counts, like “Wingspan played 23 times at 4 venues near you this month.”
The rule is simple. Private stays private, absolutely. Public gets counted, honestly. There’s nothing in between. A publicly listed event at a verified venue produces public counts because its games were already on a public page. We never publish anything that wasn’t already public. We only count it. Home events never count, even when publicly listed. Invite-only events never count.
Counts are monthly totals of plays. No names, no times, no individuals, ever. Small counts are hidden entirely so nobody can guess at a single table. Publishers and distributors see exactly what you see on this site, nothing more, and never anything about you. If a venue shares its own play counts with its suppliers, that’s the venue sharing its own business activity. Your data isn’t in there to share.
